Facebook Video Tips

We are consuming more and more videos and it aint slowing down. Facebook knows this and is giving weight to brands that create videos.

I have a few tips for brands on how to create quality social video content.

  1. First 3 Seconds – “According to Facebook, 65 percent of people who watch the first three seconds of a video will watch for at least 10 seconds, and 45 percent will watch for 30 seconds.” – SEJ It’s simple, get to the point. Make your videos, short, sharp and entertaining.
  2. Subtitles – Whilst we’re watching a ton of videos we’re also doing it with the sound off. This is called ‘accessibility’. Make sure your videos have sub titles so people can watch and enjoy without the sound. It also is a great way to grab the viewers attention. Combine an awesome first 3 seconds with quality sub titles and you may just get more views.
  3. One Point – When creating a video, have one clear point and objective. We are time poor but also don’t want to watch a video that requires too much of our brain power to understand. Keep it simple, direct, to the point and your audience will appreciate your videos more.

They might seem obvious but trust me, people get these wrong all the time. If you do the 3 things above, you are on your way to creating quality video content.
